LIDL WAREHOUSE APPLICATION, OAKDOWN FARM, DUMMER
PLANNING INQUIRY IN OCTOBER CAGE NEEDS YOUR HELP!!! You may know by now that developers have appealed the Council’s refusal for a planned Lidl warehouse complex at Oakdown Farm by M3 Junction 7. The three warehouses will be an eyesore stretching for 1km along the A30, rising 30m above the road, destroying over 100 acres of prime farmland as well as creating massive light and air pollution and adding 2,000 HGV movements per day to local traffic.
Dummer Parish Council (DPC) will be a direct participant at the Inquiry and CAGE is raising funds to enable them to employ this professional advice. Basingstoke Council will be actively defending their decision to refuse the application. Clearly, we will want to work with them to reinforce our respective cases, avoid duplication, and minimise our respective costs. Even so the cost of DPC’s participation is likely to be over £30,000. We have received pledges of funds on which we can call and with your support we are hopeful that we can reach this target. Any amount which you give will be held in strict confidence and will make a much-appreciated difference.
